Get in touch

Skip the fact-finding rabbit hole

Ask a general AI assistant about notice periods in Côte d'Ivoire and you'll get a plausible paragraph, built on an old law-firm briefing and an HR blog.

‍

Then the checking starts: whether the law is real, still in force and from the right country.

‍

Lexiwise gives the assistant you already use the law itself: consolidated, current and maintained by our in-house legal team, with the act and article on every answer.

When the answer has to be the law

Entering a new market

Ask in plain English and the answer comes from the country's consolidated law, with the articles cited.

‍

Example prompt: "Under DRC law, can an employer end a fixed-term employment contract early, and what does it owe the employee?"

Three markets, one deadline

One prompt returns a side-by-side comparison, with the provision for each country.

‍

Example prompt: "Compare the rules on transferring personal data abroad in Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire and South Africa. Put it in a table with the provision for each."

A contract on the table

Your assistant checks a clause against local law and flags where it departs. Your draft stays in your environment.

‍

Example prompt: "Check the termination clause against Namibian law."

Built for IT sign-off

Read-only, authenticated per organisation, rate-limited and logged. Nothing you send trains any model, and your documents stay in your environment.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Lexiwise MCP?

An MCP server that connects Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot to Ask Lexiwise. Your assistant answers African law questions from the consolidated text of the law, with the provisions cited.

What is an MCP?

Model Context Protocol is an open standard that connects AI assistants to outside data and tools. A legal MCP connects an assistant to a legal source, so its answers rest on that source.

Which AI assistants does it work with?

Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot.

Which countries does it cover?

South Africa, Namibia and 18 French-speaking countries, with more as Ask Lexiwise goes live. For French-speaking countries it answers in French or English. The Coverage page has the current list.

How is this different from asking ChatGPT or Copilot directly?

On its own, an assistant draws on its training and whatever public sources it retrieves, which may be incomplete, outdated or simply incorrect. Through Afriwise’s MCP, it accesses consolidated legislation, with precise references and links to the underlying sources, so you can verify the legal basis of its answer.

Does Afriwise see my documents?

No. Your documents stay in your AI environment. Lexiwise receives the legal question and the country, and nothing you send is used to train any model.

How do I set it up?

Connecting takes a few minutes. Dedicated account managers can take you through the process for each AI assistant. For Copilot, your Microsoft 365 administrator adds the connector and we work through it with your IT team.

Do I need a Lexiwise subscription?

Yes. The MCP covers the countries in your subscription where Ask Lexiwise is live, licensed per organisation or per user.

Does it give legal advice?

No. It answers from the text of the law, with sources, so you can reach your own conclusion.
